MEMORANDUM FOR THE DIRECTOR:
1. This memorandum contains a recommendation in paragraph 2.
2, It is recommended that the Director reply favorably to the attached
invitation from Mr. Art Wood of the PITTSBURGH PRESS to submit a "favorite
original political cartoon" in the forthcoming national exhibit of political
cartoons to be opened at Columbia University on February 16, by the Associat of
of American Editorial Cartoonists. The request is somewhat analogous to otbF:r?
recent requests which the Director has also considered favorably, for examplp
the request for a favorite prayer and for a favorite quotation of "words to
live by."

of American Editorial Cartoonists. Our association is pin'--
ning a national cartoon exhibit to open February 16 at
Columbia University and to travel thereafter througho't
this country.
