An Invitation Addressed to World Leaders:
Some time ago I invited you to write a statement about
the value of prayer to be included in my book, WE BELIEVE IN
PRAYER, to be published next September,
To date I have received 275 articles written by leaders
in all walks of life, ranging in length from 400 to 800 words.
However, I have not received a statement from you and I
am anxious to have you included in the book.
We are approaching a deadline for copy to reach me. If
you are willing to express your views on the value of prayer, I
hope that you will be able to find time to write the article soon
and mail it to me before the deadline on June 15.
As I stated in my previous letter, I have nothing to
offer you except the satisfaction of having contributed something
to this worthwhile project. I shall see that you receive a
copy of the book when it comes from the press.
I am enclosing a partial list of contributions already
received. All religious faiths are represented and this fact
will enhance the value of the book in revealing to readers that
prayer is an essential activity for almost every human being.
Very truly yours,

Here is a list of contributions already received. A similar number are
preparing their statements. It is planned to include 500 statements in the
book. I hope that you will decide to be included.
