Dear Tony,
It was indeed my pleasure to preside over the
Intelligence Community Award Ceremony at which you and
the other deserving recipients were accorded the
tribute your. distinguished service has earned. Like
you, I am delighted that your wife, Jean, was able
to participate. I think it is very important for
families to share in an individual's honor when, as in
Jean's case, they make significant contributions to
and sacrifices for his career.
All the good things I hear about FTD make me want
to snap up your kind invitation to visit. You can be
sure I will make every effort to arrange a trip to see
firsthand the fine work you and your colleagues are
doing. At that time, I will look forward to seeing
you and Jean again, but for now let me thank you for
your letter and assure you that I will pass on your
