SUBJECT: Intelligence Priorities
1. I , (Enclosed for your information and personal use
is a copy of the Attachment to Director of Central Intelli-
gence Directive 1/2, "Current U.S. Foreign Intelligence
Requirements Categories and Priorities," to which your
representative contributed significantly. The priorities
in this document provide basic guidance to all intelligence
activities,. including those concerned with collection,
analysis, and production.
2. II The form of this document is new. It contains
provisions for changing priorities whenever such a need is
identified. In addition to the priorities tables themselves,
I invite your attention to Annex A of the document which
provides a summary analysis of the current assignment of
intelligence priorities.
3. Ii We have provided copies of this document to
your organization under separate cover, but trust you will
feel free to let us know of your need for more.
