SUBJECT: SALT Backstopping

To support the SALT Delegation in Geneva, an interagency
SALT Backstopping Committee should be formed, under the
Chairmanship of the Deputy Director of ACDA. The inern.-
bership of this committee should consist of representatives
of the SCC principals. The committee will report to the
Chairman, SCC, for guidance or resolution of issues. The
committee will be the focal point for day-to--day support of the
SALT Delegation, and the SCC SALT Working Group will
continue to perform the function of preparation of analytical
and policy assessment papers for the SCC.
