STAT
Admiral Stansfield Turner
Director of Central Intelligence
Central Intelligence Agency..
Washington, DC 20505
Three years ago the US Army initiated a program to expose its younger
officers to the Nation's intelligence capabilities and the role of
intelligence in supporting the Army's mission. I enlisted support
for the program from the heads of all of the national intelligence
agencies.
Intelligence Day presentations during this past year to selected Army
schools were recently completed. As a result approximately 3500 stu-
dents at seven schools benefited from these presentations. Briefings
by of the IC Staff contributed
significantly to the success of the program and I would appreciate
you conveying my appreciation for their efforts.
I am aware of the personal interest you have shown in intelligence
support to the military establishment and look forward to your support
of the Army Intelligence Day Program in FY 78.
Sincerely,
HAROLD R. AARON

Dear Gen
Thank you for yo'txr letter describing the success of the Army's
Intellig race Day program and expressing thanks for the participa-
tion of I am glad that they were
able to make a contribution, and that so many officers were able
to attend these presentations.
I share your view that it is important that young officers
realize the importance of intelligence and develop a concept
early in their careers of how our intelligence establishment
functions to support their service. We look forward to continu-
ing our participation in this useful series next year.
With very best wishes.
Yours sincerely,
STANSFIELD TURNER
