C. 20505 Dear Admiral Turner: I have reported to the Select Committee on Ethics your letter reply of June 29th to our request for information concerning activities of representatives of the Republic of Korea affecting Members of the Senate and that the Agency has cooperated with the Select Committee on Intelligence in this regard. At its meeting of July 19, the Committee agreed it should accept your offer of a meeting to discuss how you can best assist it to carry out its objectives. If you and appropriate officials of the Agency can schedule such a meeting, Members of the Committee, but no staff, would attend. Zb minimize transportation and Senate absence problems, per- haps it would be possible to find a time convenient for you and your staff to meet with us at the Capitol. The Chief Clerk of the Committee will telephone your office at the end of the week to determine if the meeting can be arranged and, if so, to discuss details. Please be assured of my desire to cooperate with the Senate Select Committee on Ethics in pursuit of its investigation- I am certain you are aware of the responsibility which the Congress placed upon the Director of Central Intelligence, in the National Security Act of 1947, to protect intelligence sources and methods from unauthorized disclosure.
