The Honorable Stansfield Turner
Director
Central Intelligence Agency
Washington, D. C. 20505
Dear Admiral Turner:
I have reported to the Select Committee on Ethics your letter reply
of June 29th to our request for information concerning activities of
representatives of the Republic of Korea affecting Members of the
Senate and that the Agency has cooperated with the Select Committee
on Intelligence in this regard.
At its meeting of July 19, the Committee agreed it should accept your
offer of a meeting to discuss how you can best assist it to carry out
its objectives. If you and appropriate officials of the Agency can
schedule such a meeting, Members of the Committee, but no staff, would
attend. Zb minimize transportation and Senate absence problems, per-
haps it would be possible to find a time convenient for you and your
staff to meet with us at the Capitol. The Chief Clerk of the Committee
will telephone your office at the end of the week to determine if the
meeting can be arranged and, if so, to discuss details.
With thanks for your continued cooperation and best wishes.
Sincerely,
t --9
