Once again we are assembling a compendium on the
economy of the Peoples Republic of China. In the three
earlier volumes your Office of Economic Research ha
especially utions. STAT
have been particularly helpful.
We would like to reassess some of the basic measures
that your agency has been so instrumental in preparing.
If possible we should like your analysts to look to the con-
tinuing validity of past methodology as well as providing
current assessments.
Dr. John P. Hardt of Congressional Research Service
will once again coordinate this volume. He will be contacting
your staff for further discussions. Our publication plans
require completion of papers by March 1978.
