On 29 September 1977, as part of the agenda for the annual DCA
Commanders Conference, of your Technical STAT
Security Division presented a briefing on tn.e technicai security
threat. In attendance were my Vice Director, Major General
James M. Rockwell, USA; my Deputy Director for Operations, Rear
Admiral Ralph M. Ghormley; and my Deputy Director for Command
and Control, Rear Admiral Lucien Capone. Also attending were
commanders from DCA field activities in the United States, Europe
and the Pacific area and key members of my staff.
briefing was outstanding in every respect and
was extremely well received. There is no doubt in my mind that
he contributed to an enhanced security awareness among all those
present. As you know, it is a rare occasion when a security
presentation receives a round of loud applause from any audience.
In this instance it did happen and it was well deserved.
I want to express my official appreciation for a very fine
briefing and extend my personal thanks to you for your support.
Sincerely,
LEE M. PAS CHA LL
