Attached is a study we've done on the connection between the KGB's recent indications of aggressiveness and the Politburj's attitude towards the Carter Administration. I thought you would enjoy glancing at this in view of your interest in interpretati=on of foreign attitudes towards the Administration. 2. The report did not specifically discuss two incidents cif KGB aggressiveness. You would be interested in knowing, however, that I have one high-level internal study group going over all the material concerning those two instances. Their work should be clone in early December. I've waited until recently to get this thorough review under way because more fragments of information as to ti t ;lappened ;lave been coming in. I am also organizing an external review group which will pick up when the internal group completes its review. 61111- 1- STANSFIELO TURNER Attachment 25X1 SECRET 25X1 25X1 Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP80MOO165AQ02200120023-3 ' 25X1 Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP80M00165AO02200120023-3 Next 11 Page(s) In Document Exempt Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP80M00165AO02200120023-3 Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP80M00165AO02200120023-3 KGB Aggressiveness and Soviet Polio The Daxker Side of Detente RPM 77-10293X) Proposed Distribution: Copy No. 1 - DCI 2 - DDCI 3 - ER 4 - D/NFAC 5 - DD/N:FAC - AD/NFAC (Lehman) 7 -?
