MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Telephone Call to Secretary of Defense, 26 August 1977
On 26 August I telephoned the Secretary of Defense to clear
with him my signing the FY 79 Budget Call in advance of the
Executive Order having been signed by the President, but after
the Presidential decision having been signed. Secretary Brown
was most cooperative in this matter and indicated it was fine
with him to proceed in the budget process in the way we
anticipated will be done once the Executive Order is signed.
