1. Ted Koppel of ABC News Washington bureau called to say
he knows you well and would like to come in for a chat. He has
been out of circulation for almost a year taking care of the
house and other things while his wife attended Georgetown Law
School. He is re-establishing himself on the Washington scene.
2. 1 don't really think it is productive for you to see
him for just a "chat" unless you feel otherwise.

Presidents' Organization is conducting a National
Youn

Conference on Government in Washington October 12-to October.16,
1977. We request that you be part of the program between the
hours of 2:30 p. in. to 4:00 p. in. on Friday,. October 14,1977.
The Young Presidents'. Organization is an active, influential,
accomplishing group of young advancing. successful executives
under the age of 50.
The Conference will be limited to 150 out of a worldwide
membership of 3800. The program in its entirety is intended to
increase the effectiveness between YPO individuals and Government.
The list of YPO'ers who have served in Government includes Lance,.
Callaway, Brinegar, Sheehan, Blount,-McLucas, Peterson et al.
Attached is a tentative program which provides an idea of the
quality of resources that we are obtaining.. The session for which
you are ir._vited is intended to provide our members with your
insight into the activities of the. CIA. and your insight and possi-
bly the insight of your staff members as to relations with China
and Russia. We are hopeful that the CIA auditorium could.be used
for your session. With members and wives there would be approxi-
mately 300 in attendance.
YPO sessions are always private and the content of any resource's
remarks are never allowed to be used in public and therefore are
held confidential.
You will be an important part of our program and. we would appre-
ciate an early response as to your availability.
