Admiral Stansfield Turner
Central Intelligence Agency
McLean, Virginia
Dear Admiral Turners
October 29, 1977
On behalf of the University of Virginia School of
Law and the John Bassett Moore Society of International
Law, I am pleased to invite you to address the University
community.
In the recent past, the Law School has sponsored such
speakers as Senators Humphrey and Kennedy, Former Ambassador
to the United Nations Charles Yost and U.S. Member to the
International Court of Justice J. Hardy Dillard. The stu-
dent and faculty response to speakers in areas of interna-
tional concern has been enthusiastic and the speeches have
attracted large audiences as well as extensive press cover-
age.
The Moore Society will, of course, be happy to pay
all expenses involved in your visit. Charlottesville is
only a 35 minute flight from Washington, D.C., so prompt
arrival and departure can arranged to fit your schedule.
It is also a lovely two hour drive from Washington.
There is considerable faculty and student interest
in your work and the work of the agency within the Uni-
versity of Virginia academic community. I hope that you
will have the time to spend an afternoon in Charlottesville
at the University.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for any further
information.
Sincerely,
John Bassett Moore Society of
InternationaL Law
