MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director of Intelligence
1. Attached is a letter from Ambassador Resor of
the MBFR Delegation. Congratulations on the fine support
which he indicates you are providing to him.
2. Please give me a very succinct memo indicating
what that support is, how often it is sent and what the
Ambassador's primary interests appear to be. I'd like to
be sure we continue your fine record with him. Thanks

Warmest regards.
Sincerely,

Heartiest congratulations on your nomination.
You are certainly an ideal man for the job.
I have a strong professional-interest be-
cause the Agency has given me absolutely first-
rate and indispensable support in my work in
Vienna. I know with you at the helm it will be
if anything still better. The men I have worked
with at the Agency have been excellent -- I know
they will appreciate the kind of leadership you
will give them.
I look forward to the chance of talking to
you personally about MBFR when I come back during
the next recess.
