To better understand the status of SFT in the Peoples Republic of China, STIC sponsored. an interagency orientation day on S&T in the G3' PRC; published a directory of US intelligence personnel and products concerned with PRC S&T; and established a working. group to investigate Chinese leadership perceptions of S&T modernization. Working groups were also established to for- mulate intelligence community views on S&T enigmas in the USSR and on the status and trends of Soviet ASW technologies. STIC provided the DCI's Committee on Exchanges with Intel- ligence Community assessments of the technology loss- ,'ntel- ligence gain on four areas of technology exchange between the.
