I have asked for an appointment to see you sometime during
the week of May 20th; it has been set tentatively for the afternoon
of the 21st.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a three-volume
text which I am preparing for the Defense Intelligence School. The
first volume, whigh is completed, is The Organization For National
Security. CIA is mentioned briefly: specifically, its location in
the government. Volume I is unclassified. The second volume, now
under preparation, is The Intelligence Community. This will devote
a chapter to each of the intelligence components. It can be classi-
fied up to secret. The third volume will deal only with the armed
service intelligence components. I will be seeing those agencies
also during that week.
