SUBJECT Political-Military Situation in the Middle East
1. Attached is a short message you could send to Dr. Kissinger
expressing your concern about the developing political-military
situation in the Middle East and reporting what the Intelligence
Community is doing to stay on top of it.
2. If you have time, you may be interested in attending
an interagency experts-level meeting I will be chairing on this
subject (Friday, 1 November, Room 6F19 Headquarters, at 1400).
Attached is a "working paper" that will be the basis for much of
our discussion. The most likely outcome of this meeting will be
the provision of terms of reference for a broader estimative paper.
