Approved For Fuse 2005/0 FI@J*80M01048*1100080013-0 9 September 1977 SUBJECT : Discussion of Creativity, Controls, and Ethics in Midcareer Course.No. 57 Jack: In my view, you should not need to take a position on the "ideas and recommendations" that emerge from these exercises. The value, at least initially,-in these drills is the process itself. For the first time, we have stimulated in a series of our middle level and senior training courses a systematic and structured self-analysis of fundamental ethical and moral issues that confront all of us in our profession. I think the process should continue for a while, and then perhaps we should organize a couple more seminars such as those that kicked off this process last year - the purpose of which should be to review. the results of the training courses, evaluate the ideas and suggestions that have emerged, and perhaps to try a draft of a code of ethics. 25 k7ADDCI Approved For Release 2005/0~/ F ~80M01048AO01100010013-0 1 25
