1. I am sure Gates Lao d has told you that he, along with representatives
of he Fine Arts Commission, has been engaged in discussions with the General
Services Administration regarding the development of a master color scheme
for the headquarters building. As this project is a major undertaking, we antic9V4
pate it will take approximately one month for Mr. Tasko of Public Building
Services to present a general outline of a color pattern for the building. Upon E
completion, Zr. Yasko's proposals will be reviewed by the Fine Arts Com-
mission along with repreeentatives of your office. 1) riding upon the outcome M
of this review, it may still require more time before the execution of the new

colors can be initiated.
Z. In view of the foregoing, it would be appreciated if you would request
that all painting in headquarters building be stopped, except for emergency
requirements, until the action set forth in paragraph I is concluded.
