REFERENCE:
At the Special Group (Cl) xneetin on. 13 December there was
a general review e ' the coffer-Lsurge -cy research and development
program and a display of actual equipment.
The DCI requests that Age my representatives remain in close
touch with the Department of T ense on this whole subject, parti-
cularly an the development of a mobile radio voice unit to meet the
requirement of 30 miles range and to pounds limitation. The DCI
warms to make sure that the full benefit of the Agency' a considerable
knowledge in this area be put to the best use.
The DCI requests a comparison of expenditures by CIA and DOD
in the development of counter.. insurgency equipment, exclusively
those items which are uniquely deefeuse projects such as landing
craft and aircraft.
