Pursuant to your letter of 20 April to the Director of Central
Intelligence, we have reviewed the Office of Training study, 'Intel-
ligence for National Policy, " which you authored while on Government-
supported study at Princeton University. We note the care you took -
in the writing of the study to avoid the inclusion of classified informs--
tion, and the passage of time since the study was published. At this
point, therefore, the Director has authorized the declassification of
this study, with certain exceptions, of which you are aware.
We note that the writing of the study was supported by the Govern
mrent and that you do not intend to publish it. Thus, the study will be
held available for examination here by individuals referred by you.
