Dear Mr. Colby:
I was very sorry that you were unable to be with us at the
Savings Bonds Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, September 10, 1975.
It was a stimulating meeting and you were most ably represented
by Mr. F. W. M. Janney. I am sure he will fill you in on all the
details. Attached is a program of events which I know you will
find of interest. We were honored by having Vice President
Rockefeller present awards to the twenty-two departments and
agencies that had attained 70% or higher employee participation
as a result of the 1975 Savings Bonds campaign.
As Vice President Rockefeller stated, "You can take enormous
personal satisfaction in making the Savings Bonds campaign a
success. The beneficiaries are going to be the individuals who_
buy these bonds -- and the Nation that offers them. You are *_-
selling a stake in this country. And that has to be the sounde-tt
equity in any American's portfolio."
The Central Intelligence Agency did not make the Savings Bonds
Honor Roll in 1975, however, I am confident under your leadership
and active support you will be an award recipient in a similar
ceremony in 1976.
Thank you for your continued interest in this important program.
