Approved Fci .RFease 2004/10/28: CIA-RDP80M010fii`008100 DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE Mr. William E. Colby Director Central Intelligence Agency McLean, Virginia 22101 e Lii a '1975) .31 Dear Mr. Colby: It is a distinct pleasure for me to invite you to attend a special Savings Bonds Awards ceremony in the Briefing Room (number 450) in the Old Executive Office Building on September 1.0, 1975. We are honored in that Vice President Rockefeller will preside. The ceremony will start promptly at 2:30 p.m. Please enter by the 17th Street, NW entrance, near the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue. The purpose of this occasion is to recognize those department and agency heads who achieved Honor Roll status (70% or higher participation) as a result of the recently completed Savings Bonds campaign. Even though your agency did not meet these goals, the 1975 federal campaign was by all standards the most successful one in many years. Most all departments and agencies had successful campaigns and significantly increased their employee participation rate. In addition, sales in the federal sector are projected at $1.1 billion this year which is indeed an impressive figure. It is for these reasons the Vice President and I would like for you to attend the awards ceremony in order that we might express our appreciation for a job well done in this important program. Both President Ford and Vice President Rockefeller have actively participated in the Savings Bonds program, because they know it is one that is good for our country as well as for the millions of Americans who buy and hold U. S. Savings Bonds. I know you will want to join the Vice President and me at this important ceremony. I__?would__appreciate your letting me know by August 22, 1975. - With kindest regards Sincerely, EARL L.
