CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AENCY
WASHINGTON 25, D. C. a-?,L I
73-
Mr. Peter Paulson
Director, New York State Library
Albany, New York 12204
I wish to express our sincere thanks to you for arranging
for us to borrow the two Benedict Arnold manuscripts from your
Library. They are indeed priceless treasures of American
history and have been the high point of our exhibit here of
historical intelligence documents. This exhibition was viewed
constantly not only by our own employees, but also by their
families who visited here on four successive Saturdays on our
annual fall "Family Day" visits.
Your courtesy in having them brought to Washington by
Mr. Corsaro of your Manuscripts and History Section, as well
as their return through the same means, is also appreciated.
Sincerely,
Ls/, W. E. Colby

be appreciated if you would sign the

Librarian at Albany expressing our
appreciation for lending us the Benedict
Arnold documents. i think it would mean
more if it came from you rather than me.
