3. CIA's place in national security structure now well known.
A. Based on National Security Act 1947.

7. Whole Intelligence Community tied together in US Intelligence Board (USIB).
A. DCI, by Presidential order, is USIB Chairman.
(1) DCI's two hats differentiated in USIB as he is Chairman as
President's principal intelligence officer, not head of CIA.
(2) Both Chair and present CIA views would hamper USIB
deliberations on national intelligence
(3) Therefore CIA represented by DDCI.
B. Other USIB principals are:
(1) State Dep't. -- Dir of Intelligence & Research
(2) Director -- DIA
(3) Director -- NSA
(4) Ass't General Manager -- AEC

C. Since DIA created, service intelligence chiefs participate in

C. Directorate of Science and Technology
(1) Concentrates on S&T aspects, including R&D and production
of S&T foreign intell
(a) houses computer center
(2) Several units outside DDS&T also do specialized R&D -- e. g.
NPIC and Commo -- but DDS&T reviews all CIA R&D.
D. Support Directorate
(1) Includes security, personnel, training, commo, etc.
II. Have discussed CIA-DOD cooperates in field of intelligence; CIA also
supports military operations. (Chart -- CIA - military relations)
A. General war support under CIA-DOD, Aug 1957, "Command
Relationship Agreement"' (CRA).
(1) Overseas stations come under Unified Commander in event
of general war.
(2) CIA in theater then becomes in effect a component command.
