2. DOD Peripheral Recce Study
On 27 February D/DCI/IC signed off concurring in DDI E
briefing paper to DCI on 5 February memo from 40 Committee
Executive Secretary. Briefing paper includes draft memo
recommended for DCI to sign to 40 Committee Chairman
commenting on papers and delineating nature of DCI action on
monthly recce schedules. Action Officer: MPRRG
3. Photo Satellite Mix Study
Requirements Task Force documentation reviewed by
Working Group. Simulation Task, Tearn preparing sensitivity
studies on system interaction and GSD/GRD relationships,
Requirements Evaluation Task Force developing a macro-
analysis technique for evaluating mixed performance against
the entire ICRS requirement, and a micro-analysis technique
for examining specific key intelligence problems selected by
intelligence production. All Task Force OPRS submitting Terms
of Reference this week for review by the Working Group. Next
Steering Group meeting Wednesday, 6 March. Action Officer:
CPAG Support Officer: MPRRG
Contractor met with personnel on 28 February to examine
key features and underlying assumptions in studies of the
I =1techniques which bear on the feasibility and practicability of
application to various intelligence problems. Contractor will brief
IC Staff on results of this meeting during week of 11 March, Because
of hospitalization of EPG Chairman, next EPG meeting will not
