1. You may be interested in a bit of unsolicited
customer reaction I encountered last night at a Navy affair
marking VADM Harlfinger's retirement.
2. As I approached VADM Jerry King (J-3 ops boss -
JCS), he greeted me with "Hey, I was just talking about you
today. I was talking to Hall and told him it seemed our
relations with the people out your way were going better
since you got there." No further words on the subject after
that as he was drawn away to make appropriate remarks about
HarifinPer from the stage.
3. His "you" usage is interpreted to refer to the
ICS/NIO in general and probably relates to a series of
contacts the ?CS/NIO have had in recent weeks. Regardless
of the cause, his attitude is welcomed as he can. be a difficult
man to please -- I have eight-year-old scars to attest to
that.
