Distribution of SWS Monthlies
1. In response to your note pA~sed to me at USIB this morning this
is a preliminary reply. I am attaching the distribution list as of 7
May 1974, but have asked) for the latest version.
2. Over two-thirds of the distribution is to CIA, 18% to DIA 1C'%
to NSA and 5% to State, Army and Navy. According to a memo from 25X1
to Colby on 25 March 1975 distribution was withheld from the Special
Assistant to the President, PFIAB and the White House Situation Room.
3. Conspicuous in its absence is any distribution to the Joint
Staff (particularly J-3) and the Unified and Specified Commands.
4. For purposes of comparison, I have also asked
to send me a copy of the distribution list for the Alert List, which,
of course, goes to the field. It might be argued that the field
responses might be improved if they were able to read the SWS Monthly
and see what the concerns of higher levels had.
5. I will follow this memo with additional information as soon
as I get it.
