SUBJECT: Committee Plans
Committee I, Congressional. (Senator Mansfield, Chairman,
Mrs. Armstrong, Dr. Wagner, Congressman Zablocki). As
arranged at its last meeting, the Committee plans to meet
on November 18 and 19 to continue its review of the issues
set forth in the workbook prepared by the staff.
MEMORANDUM FOR COMMISSIONERS
Committee II, National Security/Intelligence. (Mr. Murphy,
Chairman, Congressman Frelinghuysen. Mr. Lubbers, Dr. Abshire,
Mr. Casey).. The plan is to meet on November 18 to discuss
Intelligence. matter- on November 19 to di.cc'ttac N teen 1
3ecu rii,y ma L;ers, although the latter may be deterred.
For the Intelligence discussion, the first focus will
be on covert political action and arrangements are being
made for a briefing by the CIA. In addition, there will be
discussion of the papers prepared for the Committee by
Ambassador Belcher and Mr. Chester Cooper, which will be
distributed in advance of the meeting, together with a .
commentary on them by Mr. John Bross. In the afternoon,
there will be a discussion with Mr. Kent Crane and
Mr. J.J. Hitchcock on their "All Source Study" of previous
reports and surveys of Intelligence matters.
On Tuesday on National Security matters, according
to present plans, the Committee. will continue its discussion
with Mr. Graham Allison of the results of his research
studies on National Security.
Committee III, International Economics. (Senator Pearson,
Chairman, Mr. Casey, Mrs. Engelhard, Mr. McGlinn). Plans are
to meet on Tuesday, November 19, on Capitol Hill, where under
the leadership of Mr. Anthony Solomon and Mr. Edward Hamilton,
discussion, will.focus on the products of Mr. Hamilton's
research studies.

Committee TV,, Public Diplomacy and Support.
(Congressman Zablocki, Chairman, Dr. Abhsire, Mr. McGlinn).
Arrangements for the first meeting await the scheduling of a
time when Mr. Frank Stanton can discuss the work of his
panel with the Committee. We hope this can be arranged
shortly after the Congress reconvenes on November 18.
Commission members are invited to attend sessions of
Committees other than their own where there is not a
conflict. Please let us know if you intend to do this.
