SU JECT: Status of Murphy Commission Report
1. 1 talked with Tom Reckford about the Commission'sSTATINTL
progress in preparing its draft report on intelligence. He
said that a preliminary draft will be discussed onThursday,
.

2. After talking with this group, the Commission
expects to begin its research in June on a report that will
focus on four key Issues: covert action, collection,
analysis and oversight. Drafting is expected to continue
throughout the summer, with the report presented in September
or October to a subcommittee study group for its recommenda-
tions. Tom hopes that the final report will be presented to
the Commission in November or December.
3. 1 will be having lunch with Tom next week and will
report if there are any changes in the above schedule.
