Preparing response to Assistant Secretary of Defense Ellsworth's
memo to NSCIC Working Group noting that some of Community's
deficiencies revealed in 1973 Arab-Israeli ost-mortem were repeated

Coordinating reply to ASD(I)'s letter to the DCI proposing use of a
CIA computer in the system and the assignment of staff members of
CIA and NPIC to the COINS Project Management Office. Action Officer:

Met with Captain George Walker to discuss naval intelligence gaps
review directed by RAdm. Inman. Separate MFR being prepared. Captain

ASD(I) and DIA in early stage of developing a plan for telecommuni-
cation netting of intelligence data bases in DoD Departments, Services and
Commands. IHC Staff exploring implications of this long-range planning

First draft of study report (less inputs from Eloise Page and
interview data from George Carver) nearing completion. Action Officer:

3. National/ Tactical Interface Study
National Working Group met 23 June to review draft report and
receive differences in ratings given National assets. NSA and Air Force
representatives working laterally to resolve these differences. Action

4. ICBM Study
OSD(PA&E) inputs will not be available until week of 7 July.

Second draft of Executive Summary now under review by Steering
Group. Expected completion date for final review is 27 June after which
Executive Summary will be published and Working Group will begin
modifications of Study Report and support volumes to eliminate any
inconsistencies between them and the Executive Summary. Action
