Project Management Techniques Seminar TAT STAT STAT STAT STAT IHC is sponsoring a one-day seminar for senior personnel on 13 August dealing with multiple facet projects likely to involve automation. It will be conducted by , a senior official of I Los Ange es, w no a so lectures at UCLA Graduate School of Management. Action officers: IHC1I 1. ASD(I) Proposal Regarding Upgrading of COINS A reply prepared by DD/I to ASD(I)'s letter to the DCI proposing use of a CIA computer in the system and the assignment of staff members of CIA and NPIC to the COINS Project Management Office was coordinatedfor the ICS. Action officer: IHCA 2. Interprogram IDHS Compatibility Data is being developed on DIA, CIA and State Department IDHS program proposals to assess the com- patibility of these proposals. This assessment, which is being undertaken at the request of IC/MPRRD, will also include suggestions for allocation of resources to ojects. Action officers: IHC3~- 3. Washington Area Image Transmission System (ITS) A status report on the ITS project was forwarded to the D/DCI/IC which confirmed that the PHASE I contract is proceding on schedule and provided target dates for the Phase II contract. Reservations of ASD(I), if any, regarding the tentative network composition, should be surfaced soon and the IHC Imagery Transmission Working Group will then be in a position to report its recommendations on the network. He will also be visiting SRI, TRW, Hughes and Lockheed in connection with IHC responsibilities. 2. IHC, returned from TDY in California where they discussed tele- conferencing, large-screen displays, computer security and IDHS developments with SRI and TRW. A trip report is being prepared. Ex.
