Morning Meeting of 23 March 1967
The Director announced that Ambassadors Bunker and Locke
will be briefed at 1000 this morning in the Director's Conference Room.
DD/I said that he reviewed the film of the Chinese nuclear tests
and felt that it would be a worthwhile contribution to the briefing for
Ambassador Bowles. Bruce Clarke will have the action.
DD/I asked for guidance on a letter from equest-
ing that an ad hoc committee review intelligence exc ange
He proposed that the matter be handled by discussions involving COS,
The Director agreed.
DD/I reported on the negative conclusions of
Godfrey reported on the most recent reconnaissance over Cuba
in which there were no indications of off-loading SA-2 or cruise missiles.
Godfrey called the Director's attention to a JCS message to
CINCPAC adding two thermal plants to the target list.
Kent noted that he will be on a NASA trip next week. The Director
said that, as a general rule, he would appreciate as much prior notice
as possible on trips involving senior Agency personnel.
DD/S informed the Director that the Agency will be servicing a
request for support of the Vice President's European trip.
The Director said that the DDCI will chair the USIB meeting this
morning.
