Godfrey noted that Haiti was on military alert for what appeared
to be insufficient reason.
Godfrey discussed the internal ChiCom scene.
The Director discussed with Godfrey this morning's Evans-Novak
column. (See Action 1)
Kent briefed the Director on the status of the four NIE's before
USIB this week.
DD/S&T noted that a CORONA shot is scheduled for tomorrow.
DD/S&T reported that the problem of arranging an agreed release
for the Joint Committee appears to have been solved.
DDCI said that the Soviet submarine development memorandum
was well received in the Pentagon.
DDCI asked the ADD/I to ascertain from
GLASS LAMP coverage.

The Director discussed the importance of the Latin American
Organization of Solidarity conference.

1. The Director asked Godfrey to establish a system for the
monitoring of the morning press so that the Director can be alerted
to items which are related to positions held by the intelligence com-
