Morning Meeting of 23 May 1967
Godfrey discussed reaction to the bombing of the power plant in
Hanoi.
DD/I noted the completion yesterday of a package of some sixteen
separate studies on Vietnam with a twenty-page intra-Agency coordinated
synthesis. He said that the Director intends to provide him with a dis-
semination list later in the day.
DD/I will host a luncheon today for Leroy Lewis, the general
solicitor of U. S. Steel.
Kent said that ONE is working on memoranda, intended to be com-
pleted in the course of the day, on the implications of war in the Middle
East.
1 ~eported on last night's meeting of the Watch Committee,
which was unwilling to opine on the outcome of the hostilities between
Israel and the Arabs without further study. There followed some general
discussion on UAR and Israeli military strengths.
DD/S reported on the results of "Operation Cleanup '67, " involving
some 9 percent of Headquarters files or 18, 000 cubic feet.
