Morning Meeting of 24 August 1967
DD/I noted two items of interest from the weekly report of
Abbot Smith said that several members of ISA will visit ONE
tomorrow for general briefings.
Abbot Smith reported that the State Department has requested
an Estimate on Nicaragua. The Estimate on Iceland has been approved
by all USIB principals.
Warner told the Director that there is some concern on the Hill
over the "numbers" problem in NIE 14-3. The Director said that he
will decide this morning what to do about this Estimate.
Bross reported that General Maxwell Taylor has asked for a
briefing on the Middle East situation next week.
DD/P said that will brief Ambassador
Harriman on documents recent y captured in South Vietnam.
The Director discussed yesterday's meeting of the NRO ExCom.
