MORNING MEETING ACTION ITEM
DD/I called attention to Secretary Lairds' testimony yesterday
before the Senate Armed Services Committee. He expressed his con-
cern that the Secretary's testimony on continuing Soviet deployment
of the SS-9 differed from our own information. After asking who will
monitor today's testimony on television, the Director asked the DD/S&T
and the DD/I to organize this matter. The DD/I commented that he will
review Secretary Laird's testimony and identify any discrepancies with
-our information or with the Director's previous testimony on the Hill.
Action Taken - 24 March:
Action is underway to review Secretary- Laird's
testimony.
