At the meeting of the National Security
Council on March 18, 1953, the Vice Presi-
dent suggested that the Council might well
be briefed on the communist threat in the
forthcoming Italian elections (about May 20,
I think) and what we are doing to counter
that threat. This is an excellent suggestion.
Would it be possible for you to combine
an intelligence estimate and the outline of
our psychological strateg ' '.n this connec-
tion, at a Council meeting during April?
I suggest the meeting for April 20, as I
doubt if there will be available time before
then.
