MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Training
SUBJECT : Midcareer Course No. 1
1. I have reviewed the tentative schedule for Midcareer
Course No. 1, and it looks all right to me. I have also discussed
it generally with General Carter whose only comment was, "It
sounds all right, but remember that this has to be as good or
better than anything done by the war colleges, and we should spare
no effort in making it the best program ever put on by the Agency. "
2. I have already set aside 7 October so that I can devote the
full day to the program, and will probably plan to go down to
on the 6th. If, in addition to this, there is anything
further I can do by way of assistance, or that you wish the DCI or
DDCI to do, please advise. I plan to have the DCI, if he is willing,
and I am quite certain he will be, advise the Executive Committee
meeting early in September of the great importance that he attaches
to this course.
