SUBJECT: PFIAB Interest in The Pentagon Papers
1. According to Byers, Admiral Anderson, the PFLAB
Chairman, has the following interest in The Pentagon Papers:
a. What intelligence documents were in the
collection and thus what was compromised;,
b. Some assessment of the resultant damage;
c. The adequacy of protective legislation.
2. 1 gather Admiral Anderson hopes to be able to decide
by the end of this week whether a meeting of the Board should be
convened on this topic.
3. Byers and Burke have confirmed the meeting with you and
George Carver in your office at l 0:00 on 14 July.
