MEMORANDUM FOR: Legislative Counsel
1. Attached are three documents related to my 4 May 1972
testimony before the House Committee on Armed Services:
a. the official stenographic transcript of those
hearings,
b. a compendium of the errata of that stenographic
transcript (organized by page and line) with indications
on how the text should be modified to make it correct,
c. a proposed response to Representative Clancy's
queries.
2. 1 am assuming (I hope correctly) that the requests of
Representatives Young and Spence for illustrative quotations of North
Vietnamese propaganda exploiting material derived from the American
press and speeches by members of Congress have already been taken
care of via the compendium you independently solicited from FBIS.
3. If the above assumption is indeed correct, the attached
package should close the books on outstanding business deriving from
those hearings.
