MEMORANDUM FOR THE DIRECTOR
SUBJECT: Leave Plans
1. Per our conversation, I plan to be on leave from
COB Friday, 21 December through the holidays -- assuming
your continued concurrence. I will not be leaving the area
and can, of course, be reached at home should I be needed.
2. My original intent, which you blessed, was to
remain away until OOB Wednesday, 2 January. Unfortunately,
I appear to be the DCI Duty Officer on 1 January. If I
understand things correctly, this means I can conduct my
1 January responsibilities by being on telephonic call
but will be expected to sit in your office performing
the functions of this detail for a few hours on New Year's
Eve. Since none of my Executive Committee colleagues
displayed much interest in exchaning weekends (or indicated
any great sympathy for my plight) I will, of course,
discharge these responsibilities but hope that before
assuming the functions i can ascertain precisely what
they entail.
