SUBJECT: Announcement Suggestions
1. It might be politic to make the following
announcements at the USIB meeting on 20 November, even
though the meeting will be an Executive Session:
a) The NIO for Strategic Programs
will be Mr. Howard
e ega ion. The Assistant NIO for
Strategic Programs will be
b) The NIO for Conventional Forces
will be a senior active duty military
officer. Admiral de Poix and Mr. Carver
are jointly considering and interviewing
a final list of putative candidates.
Their nominations will be forwarded to
the DCI within the next two weeks.
The Conventional Forces NIO's assistant
will be a civilian from the CIA's Office
of Strategic Research.
2 will get the formal announcement on Stoertz
and typed up for your signature.
