Dear Mr. Thomas:
I note by the record of the 26 February 1957 hearings
on the General Accounting Office that you made the following
statement concerning the CIA:
"Mr. Campbell. Going back to the question
about checking on the Bureau of the Budget, we so
have a centralized audit check, they are not subject
to comprehensive audit at this time,
"Mr. Thomas, Neither is Central Intelligence,
where more money is wasted per square inch than by
any other agency in this whole Government.
"Mr. Yates. Do we know that?

request that you inform me as to the facts on
