Dear Mr. Zulles:
I am not quite sure what to do with this letter, so I as
passing it on to you for your attention. The story re-
'erred to ran in the Monitor and dea2twith the defection
of Aleksander Urevitch Kaznackeev to our Embassy is Burma.
By the way, I was so impressed with the skill and intea.lig-
exce st with which the whole business was handled I persuad-
ed iiy editor by cable that even though it had occurred is
June, it nevertheless merited a full--dress story is Septem-
ber. I particularly felt this way because I though the U.S.
and British press handledik the story miserably if at all.,
If Kaznacheev ever comes out from behind the bushes, per-
haps, I could meet him for a face-to-face interview. In the.
meantime, if he's job-hunting, Max Factor might be the place
for him. He did seem in Burma to have a weakness for the
ladies. Imagine, a reward like this--- Hollywood.' I'm sure
he wouldn't complain. at being allowed to see `the filming of
"Can-Can. '"
Yours sincerely,
Allen Dulles, Esq.,
