a Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, made a
public address on 3 lurch 1959 at the University of South
Caroliss in Columbia, South Carolina. He did not speak from a
text, but the report of his address which appeared in To MMTE
the morning paper in Co1 a bia, ftath Carolir* on 4 Wr'eh 1959,
a copy of which is attached, is essentially' accurate.
The quotations that you used in your letter of 4 Juror 1959
obviously are out of Context- Thank you for }wing checked with
