Thanks for your prone call this afternoon.
actually w did not plan to have a full dress
study group meeting to consider the question of the
blast furnaces. Rather we had tentatively set up a
session for six or eight persons, most of whom would have
been technical experts on steel m nufacturing, and we had
intended a discussion of perhaps two hours. u.t it
seemed to us essential to have an authoritative statement
of the factual situation on the basis of which expert
technical judgments might be made.
As you requested, we shall drop the whole
thing immediately. This causes us no embarrassment, as
we had not yet issued any invitations. I hope that we
can be helpful on some other occasion.
