No doubt you read Ernest K. Lindley's informative columns on
developments in the Par East as they appeared in Newsweek
during the spring and summer of this year.
Each column, datelined from a country in that vital area,
proved of keen interest to all who are interested in world
affairs and in the sweep of Soviet influence.
Recently, I took the entire series home with me for study.
In doing so, I came to a very interesting realization ...
only in reading the series at a sitting does one absorb
the full impact, the complete significance of the changing
picture in the Par Eastern area.
