MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT: Intelligence Support of JCS War Room by
CIA and Department of State
1. Attached is subject correspondence, rewritten as you re-
25X1 quested, naming I las CIA representative. The
subject matter of this planning is mainly a DD/I concern with support
from DD/S and coordination with DD/P.
2. I have also changed the last paragraph of the Layton and
Armstrong letters to include an invitation to State to name a rep-
resentative to meet with the CIA and JIG representatives. This should
make clear that, although Layton asks CIA to provide for State support
in wartime to the JCS War Room, that we are expecting State to represent
itself. '
