SUBJECTS ASB Luncheon Meeting, 25 September. 1952, at CIA
. I took occasion to inform General Bedell Smith that
while still nominally a "Consultant" to the PSB, had not
received any salary since 15 September (possibly 12 September depending
an adjustment of leave); that

his health, and we would terminate his relationship with this office
upon his return North. General Smith suggested that a resignation due
to ill health might be timely; but I said that my information was that
Dr. Vannevar Bush had advised not to resign. We left the
matter this way with the understanding that

be released by the office, if he did not resign earlier.

3. It was agreed that a formal Board meeting would not be necessary
at the present time.
